GIFTS FROM MY HEART TO YOURS 1-LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS 2- WELCOME TO THE LAND OF OZ 3-DISCO INFERNO On short notice I am writing to all my friends, family and personal contacts to invite you to the ARTINACTION Burlington studio tour this weekend November 3rd and 4th from 10 am to 5 pm each day. In order to make this invite special I am sharing with you some images and thoughts of what has transpired in my life the last 10 months. The Spirit of Joy transferred into canvas has musical titles of songs that brought me Joy in my youth. 1-Lucy in the sky with diamonds: This year has been one of the most challenging ones I've had to endure in a long time. Fighting a life threatening illness that would have cut my life so short in a matter of months and coming out triumphant on the other side by beating the odds of just a 20% survival ratio was very hard. The most important lesson I gained from all of this was the fact that I had by my side so many friends, family, fellow artists, new acquaintances and perfect strangers that came to me and offere out of their kindness their support and love, I am gaining this battle because of that love that I received and gave back in return. My only words to all of you come from a humble heart are: “THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!” The result was the awakening of a feeling of pure joy, love and thankfulness inside of me. Much of that joy and love has now been transferred into the canvas in my 2012 art collection. Lucy in the sky with diamonds is one of the tributes I made inspired by this sharing of kindness; for each one of you has become a diamond of light inside of me and I am blessed for having so many of you in my life. 2- Welcome to The Land of OZ: I must confess that I felt nervous about what kind of year I was going to have and if I could even create any work due to the limitations that illness can impose on anyone’s life; but I have just counted 23 new large-medium art pieces, along with over 200 new miniatures created in this hard time to share with you. I am creating one-of-a-kind pieces and I am surrounded by colleagues that are doing the same by creating so much beauty in so many formats for our upcoming Art In Action Burllington Studio Tour. We artists express the essence of creativity, for no picture can be taken without the eye of a good photographer, no surface can be painted without the spirit of a good painter, no computer program will be able to replace the human spirit at the point of creation, no jewelry can be crafted without the dedication and design of a good jeweler, no sculpture in glass, metal, marble or wood, no embroidery, no stain glass piece, pottery, wood carving can come to life without the passion and talent that each artist puts into creating it. All other imitations lack the one thing that makes an original a masterpiece - the true beauty of pure creativity of the human soul in one-of-a-kind art pieces. This is what we have put together for you to share this coming weekend.

3-Disco inferno: When I heard it the first time I remember the joy I felt back then when I meet for the first time my Danish family, for I was living in Colombia, South America at that time. This is the same joy that will be shared by the entire artist community in the Tour with the public when they come into each of the ten studios hosting over 36 very talented artists this weekend. We artist share the best of our craft with our public in this event. That is the reason this event is so successful. This year we even raised two substantial scholarships for two young and very talented post-secondary art students in our community. Our Burlington community becomes richer each year because of shows like this one. This is what the public takes home with them along with their purchases -- a feeling that they are getting one-of-a-kind art created with love and purchased in a non-pressure environment that gave them the opportunity to see new creativity that inspired and moved and warmed the spirit inside of them. We, as artists, feel as much joy and honour when we meet our clients and know that we have provided them with an item that has no duplicates. It is a measure of our true success. Many clients come out of the show so surprised at the fact that they were able to afford an item that cost no more than if they had bought it at a big chain store. The art holds even greater value because they can relate to the art work and meet the artists that created it. So as Artists we will make this weekend full with the music of joy in fresh art and share that feeling with every one that comes into our studios regardless of whether purchases are made or not. We establish a true bridge into the lives of the public for the future, and that is something money can not buy. Please come and join us and fill your cup with the spirit of Joy and take home something that you will truly cherish for your own personal space or as a gift for those that make your life meaningful. Visit as many studios as possible. Witness the artists creating during the tour. The key is also to ENJOY! This wonderful artist’s tour is held once a year in 10 studios with 36 artists. Remember this small suggested simple piece of advice: “ENJOY FINE ART”. If it makes you happy, it will always be like that favourite shirt or dress that makes you feel and look like a million dollars when you wear it. This rule never fails; your first instinct is the right one. For more specific details of studios and maps of locations please visit our web site at www.artinaction.ca or call 289 337 2621, reserve your weekend of November 3rd and 4th from 10 am to 5 pm to take a break from the routine and a wet stormy week and enter our fantastic world filled with joy, sunshine and so much fine art that will create a good memory for you to cherish in your own personal way. As I say it in my own personal Caribbean warm words: “Come and get some good MOJO (Vibrations)! resonate together!” Artists at Studio #3 Maria Hoyer Kristina Kirkwood Elizabeth Meister Olivia Hashka Edward Robin Hoyer(Host) With Love, respect, warmest regards I share this thoughts and images with you.
